The most important tool in your kitchen is your main knife. Typically, this is a chef’s knife, but it could just as happily be a Santoku or other beefy blade.
I’ve gone on at length about how to Choose a Knife, but if you prefer to chat about it rather than read, join me this Saturday and I walk you through the basics of knife skills.
I’ll also look at alternatives for specific purposes; when should you pull out the Mandoline (hint: scalloped potatoes become incredible with a mandoline!), and when a Food Processor might be a worthy investment.
