Saturday Market June 23 – Fermentation for a Healthy Gut Biome

Fermentation has been a growing food trend for the last several years. To keep our gut biome happy, it’s important to send it new friends on a regular basis.
Yoghurt is probably the most commonly consumed fermented food; but there are so many other options out there!
Fermented vegetables are a healthy, storable way to get the wonderful nutrients from our gardens. Kefir and Kombucha are some fermented beverages that have gained a lot of popularity, and can be flavoured however you’d like.

We’ll be talking about countertop fermentation during this Show & Tell, what to watch out for, how to get started, and what tools you’ll need (hint: not much!). We have a couple of tricks for easy care of your new little buddies, and we’ll have samples of a few fermented recipes I started at home.
