Saturday Market May 12 – A Well Stocked Kitchen

Cooking has a reputation for being difficult and time consuming. We would rather work harder and longer so that we can pay someone else to prepare our meals for us.

When we do take the time, the prevalence of cheap, poor quality tools with great marketing are fooling us into blaming ourselves for poor results. After all, this is supposed to be easy according to some TV Chefs!

Saturday morning during the Farm Market in Downtown Revelstoke, we explored the key tools of a Well Stocked Kitchen. Maybe not your dream kitchen yet, but a kitchen that will have your back. We want to see you cook for your loved ones (or just yourself) without the stress or headache.

We’ll show you where you should invest what money you have, and where you can cut some corners without driving yourself nuts. You’ll need to make some time for your food, these tools aren’t robots that will do it for you, but I promise, it’ll worth it! We’ll be focusing on 6 main areas:

  • Choosing the right knives
  • The importance of a decent cutting board (and a comfortable workspace)
  • Mixing Bowls and Measuring Tools
  • Choosing a good Frypan / Skillet
  • Choosing decent cookware
  • Choosing other tools for YOUR home
