A New Year, A New Owner
We hope that your holiday celebrations were all that you wanted them to be, whether you celebrated long into the evenings or simply enjoyed the company of family and friends around a fire.
I’m proud to say the store had a great 2013, with new Canadian and American suppliers, a new, shorter cake decorating class schedule, and an increased presence in social media. I’m proud of what we’ve done, and I’m looking forward to where we’re going. As of January 1st, I’m excited to announce my purchase of the business from Deenie.
Deenie has been a mentor and confidant for me since my husband, Glen, and I moved to Revelstoke in 2008. I couldn’t have gotten where I am without her help and guidance. I remember wandering the aisles of Chantilly before I worked here, dreaming about all the tools we’d one day have for our kitchen. I married my chef, and you can imagine his excitement when I started working here at the store shortly after. It’s been great adding my skills to the team and getting to know the cooking and entertaining habits of Revelstoke. We have an amazingly creative, yet practical community. I love the puzzle of hunting out products that suite our cultures and needs. I’d like to think that we do a pretty darn good job of it!
In the spirit of celebration I’d like to invite you, your friends and family down to wish Deenie well on Friday, January 10th from 3-6pm. This will be an open house, where you can share stories of your favourite tools in the kitchen and learn about our plans for 2014. There will be coffee, tea, snacks and maybe even a few deals to be had, so bring your friends!
